How do I get started?

Simply fill out the appointment request form on our Contact page. We'll reach out within 1–2 business days to discuss availability, answer any questions, and schedule your first session. You can also book directly through our Headway profile.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to work on, and what a supportive therapeutic relationship looks like for you. There's no pressure to share everything at once — we go at your pace.

How long are sessions?

Individual sessions are typically 50–55 minutes. Couples and family sessions may run slightly longer depending on the format. We'll confirm the session length when scheduling.

How often will we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. As you progress, we may shift to bi-weekly or monthly check-ins. The frequency is always tailored to your needs and goals.

Question 5

How does virtual therapy work?

All sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You'll receive a link before each appointment. All you need is a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.

Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person?

Research consistently shows that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for most concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. Many clients actually find it easier to open up from the comfort of their own space.

Where are you licensed to practice?

We currently provide virtual therapy to clients in licensed states. Please reach out to confirm whether we're able to work with you in your state — we're happy to let you know.

Question 8

What if I have technical issues during a session?

If you experience technical difficulties, we'll troubleshoot together. If the issue can't be resolved quickly, we'll reschedule at no charge. We recommend testing your connection and setup before your first session.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes — we accept several major insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Optum, and Oscar Health. Insurance billing is handled through Headway, our trusted billing partner. You can verify your coverage directly on our Headway profile.

What if my insurance isn't listed?

Don't see your plan? Reach out — we may still be able to work together. We also offer sliding scale fees based on financial need for those who qualify, because we believe cost should never be a barrier to care.

What are your session rates?

Individual therapy sessions are $150, child therapy is $140, and couples or family therapy is $175 per session. If you're using insurance, your out-of-pocket cost will depend on your plan's copay or deductible. Contact us or check Headway to understand your specific benefits.

What is a sliding scale fee?

A sliding scale means your session fee is adjusted based on your income and financial circumstances. We offer this option because we're committed to making therapy accessible. If cost is a concern, please mention it when you reach out — we'll do our best to find a path forward.

What therapeutic approaches do you use?

Sessions draw on Internal Family Systems (IFS), Inner Child Work, and trauma-informed care — evidence-based approaches that help you understand the different parts of yourself, heal emotional wounds, and build inner resilience. The approach is always tailored to you and what you're working through.

Culturally affirming therapy means your cultural identity, background, and lived experience are not just acknowledged — they're central to the work. As a Haitian-American therapist, Cassy brings a nuanced, personal understanding of how culture shapes mental health, and creates a space where you never have to explain or minimize who you are.

Do I have to incorporate faith into my sessions?

Absolutely not. Faith-integrated therapy is entirely optional. For clients who wish to incorporate Christian values and spirituality into the therapeutic process, that pathway is available and welcomed. For those who prefer a secular approach, sessions are fully supportive without any faith component.

Do you work with children?

Yes. Cassy has extensive experience in outpatient therapy for children and trauma-focused care. Child therapy sessions focus on building coping skills, self-esteem, and emotional regulation in a safe, age-appropriate environment. Parents are kept informed and involved in a way that supports the child's progress.
